Natalie Harris and Tosca Ruotolo

We here at Prism are so excited to welcome you back to campus! Editor-in-Chief, Natalie Harris, and Assistant Editor, Tosca Ruotolo, are happy to see new and returning Prism community members at volunteer meetings, events and more.

With the start of the new term, we have had the privilege to begin hosting in-person meetings and events. Some highlights so far are the Orange Media Network Open House and our weekly volunteer meetings. We played a spooky version of Pictionary last week!

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer for Prism? Natalie, Tosca and the team would love to see you there. As a volunteer, you can write blog posts, host podcasts, aid in outreach and attend events. You will also be a valuable member on our submission committee, helping design the 2021-22 edition of Prism! Meetings are every Tuesday from 4-5pm in the large conference room on the fourth floor of the Student Experience Center. Or you can join us remotely! Email [email protected] for our Zoom room details.

Reminders:

We are less than ONE MONTH away from our 2021-22 submission deadline! If you are interested in being published in the newest edition of Prism, fill out the submission form before November 19th! We would absolutely love to see your artwork, photography, music, writing, film, and more in the new edition. Every Oregon State University student has the opportunity to submit up to 5 pieces for review. Stay tuned for an FAQ blog post about submissions.

We’re an annual publication so this is you chance to submit! Our 100 page journal will be released in May of 2022.

For other updates and reminders, follow us on social media @osuprism.

Upcoming Events:

Prism is going to be attending some exciting upcoming events! On October 28th at 5pm, the OSU Pride Center is hosting SOL-oween, a jams and art night! Check out their instagram @osupridecenter and @sol_qtpoc_osu for more information or to sign up to perform. Pride Center staff is still looking for work to put on display and live performers for the event.

Natalie, Tosca and the team will be tabling in the SEC Plaza on November 10th from 9am-12pm. Stop by to meet us, get on our email list or sign up for volunteer opportunities! We’d be happy to chat and answer any questions or comments you may have.

Check out our Events section on our website for reminders about these events, volunteer meetings and our submission deadline.

That’s all for now…

If you’d like to reach us directly, send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]

Good luck on midterms and projects, and make sure to submit your work for the new edition by November 19th
