Our Publications

Our annual art and literary journal features art and literary work created by OSU students. Submissions are open to all and we accept all forms of art and literature. When we say all, we really do mean all. We can even feature your music or video submissions by putting a QR code in the printed publication!

This journal allows our OSU and Corvallis community to take a closer look into the lives of our student body at the time of publication. The art and literature pieces submitted shine with creativity, proving that anyone has the potential to create art, no matter if you’re majoring in it. This is why our publication is open to all students, and we don’t pick a theme until after submissions are closed. We find a theme naturally arises when looking at the submissions in its entirety.

Here’s a little bit about our process:

  • Receive submissions until deadline (Fall Term)
  • Create a review committee which assists the editor-in-chief and assistant editor (Fall Term)
  • The review committee meets to discuss the anonymous work (names of the artists/authors are not shared with review committee) and determine which pieces are selected. Our review committee consists of the editor-in-chief, assistant editor, volunteers, and a representative from the Orange Media creative team (Winter Term)
  • Everyone who submitted receives an email from the editor-in-chief with an update about their submission (Winter Term)
  • Creative team from Orange Media and Prism editors meet to discuss the design of the journal
  • Volunteers and/or community provide feedback on design and titles (Winter Term)
  • Publication gets sent to the printers (Spring Term)
  • Launch party happens! (Spring Term)
  • The publication is finally on stands (Spring Term)

The printed journal is produced entirely by students, and becomes available for free on racks around OSU’s campus, and in downtown Corvallis in the spring. Check back here for updates on specific locations for our latest publication.
