Artist Feature: Adrian Ostrow

Night and Day by Adrian Ostrow. Pottery.
Honey pot by Adrian Ostrow. Pottery.

Biography: I’m a ceramics artist majoring in electrical engineering. I fell in love with wheel-throwing in highschool, and I’m happy to be able to continue throwing at oregon state’s craft center! After college I hope to get a job in the renewable energy field, and I hope to open my own pottery studio someday.

Artist Statement: I make pottery that serves a purpose. That’s what ceramics have done for centuries. From the first forms of tableware to heat shields on rocket ships, ceramics are not the dainty delicate art form you might think of. I make pieces that are meant to be used everyday!
